Zac has woken up and won’t put any weight on his front right paw. I’ve had a good feel around, manupulated his joints and toes and he hasn’t flinched or yelped. He’s now laid on his side keeping it up in the air. Vets doesn’t open till 9. Any ideas?

Thanks lb.

Could it be something as simple as a thorn or splinter in a pad or between pads? we had the with one of ours a few weeks ago.

No balders, the vet had a good look. Whatever it was he stood on has given him a pretty bad infection. He’s shaking with every intake of breath which isn’t easy to watch but he’s fast asleep.
Years ago our big dog was like that lame .Vet said and treated an ingrown hair with got infected .Course of antibiotics cleared it up . Hope he’s fine again soon .

Ok, just a thought, good luck.

Cheers both.

Thanks all.
Hoping the meds kick in and he feels better tomorrow (and thus you). Sure it's a worry for you especially as even the vet couldn't find an obvious sore place
Question Author
He’s just perked up a little bit. Managed a wee in the garden after carrying him out there. Just had a bit of food and his second meds of the day. Zonked again now.
Has the shaking stopped?
Aw, poor baby. I hope he gets better soon.

It’s crushing to see them so I’ll :(
Ill not I’ll. Stupid predictive text.
Question Author
Yes, ummmm. The shaking seems to have stopped.
Hope his improvement continues. It is a worry, at any age.
