I have a 6 year old male, Napster, and his Mum living with us. Had them nearly 6 years. In the summer it's very usual for him to disappear off for a week or 2.
However he's been gone a month now although I have seen him twice. It's not like him to do this in the cold. I've not seen him at feeding time yet when I have spotted him (in our garden) he looks in fine health and well fed. He refuses to come indoors. Gets on with his mum though. I can't work out what's going on!

We all know cats have two homes, some share themselves out more than others !! He's probably getting 500% attention from a 70 yr old nan somewhere, gets real chicken for dins, not whiskas etc
Yes, rsd2525 is right. I have some stray cats in my area and I feed them leftovers, the odd sausage and chicken. Anyway I noticed some cats that come are not strays, they are fat looking or have collars. They see some cats gettng a free meal and of course they want it too.
Is he neutered? Neutered cats are far less likely to roam, but if you have seen him and he is getting fed, he is ok. My neighbour's cat (who had been speyed two years previously) appeared one day wearing a belly-bandage, after a family who thought she was their cat took her to be speyed. When the vet opened her up of course, the original speying was discovered, and that is how they discovered that she had two homes.

Yes, looks like you've been jilted !!

We once had a cat which appeared as a thin stray and made his home with us. We called him Tiny. He used to disappear for the odd day or two. Subsequently discovered he was boarding a few doors down where was called Butch, and also round the corner where he was known as Blackie !! Still, he gave his affection unstintingly and had a heart big enough for all three families !

Thanks for the answers..I did suspect some kind of bigamy going on! Wasn't sure as I've never had cats of my own before (i was allergic until I met my husband, still am if they have short hair).
Oh well he seems happy and healthy. What a fun life cats have eh!
hey...well i just felt like saying not ALL cats have a second home! well my old cat sleeky had like about 3 or so pple who fed him as we knew of, he could have had more? but he' didn't realy think of them as his family just some1 who fed him..anywayz my other 4 cats wouldn't dream of going to some1 else mostly cuz they don't realy like any1 else other than us...and there probably way to fussy to eat some1 elses food like who would feed some1 elses cat realy good scotch fillet steak? or raost chicken?

plus there realy loyle cats! pplz don't think cats r loyle but mine r! there way more loyle than our dog! like if he got out or something and some1 else started feeding him and took him in he would probably just forget us like that!

anywayz about ur problem if he isn't spayed he's just probably going off roaming making his territory bigger and finding some lady friend on heat somewere..cuz if there's a cat on heat they normally go off 4 a few dayz to a few weeks and starve themselves even if they do come hom, they won't eat or eat verry little till they the cat goes off heat and then there all happy again..
