Near where I live there are large numbers of pigs in fields with large numbers of little huts. There are no numbers or names for these huts. My question is: How do the pigs know which hut they live in?

hi stanleyman, maybe by the smell?

They will live in anyones dirt. The're not fussy.

stanleyman, Wouldn't you recognise your own house without the number on the door? I imagine it is much the same for the pigs, except that they wouldn't be able to read them even if they did have names or numbers.

Hi gen2, you mean they also have garden gnomes and a caravan in the drive? There must be a hundred huts all the same, some fields have them in rows others are scattered randomly. It must be like trying to finding your car amongst identical others in a large carpark!
no maggie01 you are wrong. Pigs are clean animals - they never mess inside their houses.
They have trotter-held PPS devices. (That's Porcine Positioning System)
Pigs are intelligent
