What frustrates me about the so called experts on extra-terrestial life is their reluctance to stray from the elements that makes 'life' as we know it. It doesnt have to be dependent on certain gases. It doesnt have to have thought processes that we. as humans, understand. I think that our superiority complex obstructs our acceptance of anything unfamiliar. There could very well be 'life' out there. Maybe just not as we know it.

Depends what you term as life. If you mean living beings going about their Martian business (work, family and hobbies etc) then no!
