I have to move and I can't take my cats, I have just found a foster family for them, until my situation changes, they're a lovely family with three kids and I know the cats will be looked after well and get all the attention they love. I also babysit for them a lot so will get to see them. But I'm so sad I won't have my boys with me. Cheer me up please. :o(

Hi Englishbird - for work reasons, our neighbours had to live in America for a year. They rented out their house & also had to find a new home for their two beautiful beloved cats. On returning home from America last month, they enquired about the cats & were told they'd settled into their new home - so that's where they'll be staying from now on.

I'm sure everything will work out fine for you & your cats - so good luck! :o}

I'm sad for you but at least you will still have a chance to see them and reassure yourself that they are happy and comfortable. But I suspect it might feel like a bit of a two edged sword, being able to see them but not being able to take them home with you! I'll just hope that your circumstances change soon so that you can all be reunited again. But by then the cats may have wheedled their way into the childrens' hearts and they'll be equally sad to see them go. You might have to buy them a replacement bunny or hamster or something !!

It's a shame but cats will get by and often have more than one set of owners anyway because they go around other people's houses for extra attention/food if they can get it. One day you can get some more cats and everything will be fine. You know where they will be living and know the family and can pop in which is even more great. Cheer up, the cats will be just as happy with them as they are with you.

Awwww EB.

Least you can console yoursel with the fact that your cats will continue to be loved and well cared for.

My heart goes out to you hon- I've never had to do anything like this, I can only imagine how hard it must be for you. But it will get better, God bless xxx

At least you know where they're going and who's looking after them, unlike if you had to take them to an animal shelter. I'm sure they'll be well looked after and you can still visit them too.
