I have recently (past 6months) started to notice tiny bugs in my apartment. They are about 1 1/2 mm across very pale. Three legs each side, two body parts and tiny antenee and very easy to squash. Virtually transparent too. They appear anywhere usually one on its own or in twos. I've trawled the net but to no avail. I live in the middle of Leicester in a new development of apartments. I live very cleanly and there is no damp or smells. Any ideas???

Sounds like silverfish - try googling that.

No not Silverfish, I haven no wallpaper as I know they like chewing on the paste. Silverfish are far to big as well. These things I have look like a cross between a springtail and termite.

Any ideas???

How long are they, roughly?

There are little over a millimetre

Book louse here ??

Oh I may have found the same thing as CT - took me while to get the link sorted!

Mmm... they do resemble the smaller paler things but I haven't seen any of the big brown critters and I hope not to. Though my cats have a tendancy to eat anything that moves without a second thought, which includes spiders, flys. So i'm sure if one of those things would be about they'de be a crunch and it'de be gone.
Well that's me off my lunch........lol

You may identify the little darlings from here: http://www.projects.ex.ac.uk/bugclub/bugid.html

I hope they are not anything too unpleasant. If they persist, your local environmental health dept at the council will identify them and suggest ways to get rid of them.
