My maths isn’t very good. So 40 pouches for £12, or 12 pouches for £3.75. Is there much difference, is it worth buying 40?

It only works out about a penny per sachet.

If you are sure that your boss won't suddenly take a dislike to Felix once you have bought in bulk go for 40 sachets.
Slightly cheaper to buy the 40 (= 30p a pack) than the 12 (= just over 31p a pack).
There's only about 1p difference per pouch.

Thanks all. She loves it … at the moment.
Maths lesson: Lowest common multiple is 120. You can fund 120 pouches by buying either :-

3 x 40 pouches @ £12= £36

or

10 x 12 pouches @ £3.75 = £37.50

You would think by buying 40:it would be much cheaper!
Is it the 'ordinary' Felix that your feline mistress likes or the 'As Good As It Looks' one?

The 'ordinary' one is just £10.49 for 40 in B&M (26.2p per pouch). 'As Good As It Looks' is £11.99 for 40 (30.0p per pouch).

Boxes of 12 are £3.00 in most shops.
I bought a few hundred sachets of this stuff - he died before he got a chance to tuck in.

You would but:
Seen in Morrison's 2 weeks ago -

Tetley tea bags: 40 bags for £1 or 80 bags for £2.60.
^^^ You obviously shop in different shops (or possibly a different space-time dimension) to me, Hopkirk.

The websites for Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrison's are currently all showing £3.50 as their price for boxes of 12 'original' Felix packs and £3.75 for the 'As Good As It Gets' type. The prices in Waitrose are £3.50 and £4.60, respectively.
Just don't expect it to be cheaper on Amazon. The boxes of 12...normally £3-4...are about 12.
I bought a box of 40 Senior several months ago for £11...over 20 now.
Must have gone up then Chris. It's been £3 at Tesco and Sainsbury's for ages.

Usually £2.99 at Wilko and B&M.

I must admit I stopped having to buy it a while ago. The wife got a job at one of the above recently, and gets it with her staff discount.
According to the Office for National Statistics, pet food is one of the items in a typical shopping basket with the current highest rates of price rises:
