A small kitten nips playfully at my fingers. When she grows up I don't want her to think it's ok to pass the time chewing away at them. How to dissuade her from doing this?

Cats do not respond to shouting and that will only make the matter worse. Never put anything like iodine on your fingers, as many things that are safe to humans are poisonous to cats.

My brother is at war with his neighbour's cat. She saunters past him on her way to use the facilities, his vegetable garden. She just looks at him with pure disdain, safe in the knowledge that he can do f'all about the situation.
He actually finds it amusing that she doesn't care one bit that she is being a total pain. Her name is Polish for 'girl cat'.

That's simply displaying due deference to the cat ;-)

I didn't need to look that up. I can't remember much of what I learned at evening school, when I attempted to study Polish a few years ago, but 'kot' and 'kotka' are two words than I simply can't forget ;-)
