I cannot disagree with you, Canary. How many of the reptiles escape from their own homes? Too many for my liking. It is not as if one would realise that a neighbour has a snake until it escapes :(
Some say the Garter Snake is dangerous but nothing compared to the Unsheathed Trouser Snake.
I think it's time to ban the morons who think they are pets.
I wonder how many snake related deaths there are in the UK each year? I don't recall seeing any reported. I guess snakes just aren't fluffy and cute enough.
i used to keep boa constrictors, not like the ones in the pic thats a burmese python, people whpuld not really have them, as thye get to long and its kind of cruel as they need a big space, and sadly when winter comes a lot will die as owner free them..bad idea, ban snake keeping erm, perhaps the big varieties, like the burmese and reticulated pythons, there are small pythons that only grow so big, and boa constrictors, they all need special care same as lizards.
not recommended for children, heating lights habitat ie tank essential.
These sorts of animals should live in the wild where they are meant to be. They should not be objects for some numpty to put in a fish tank and keep prisoner in less than ideal conditions for the animal.
Such stories always remind me of this horror.
