my labrador suffers greatly from arthritis in one of her back legs.she is taking metacam and this seems to help a little.does anyone know of anything else that could help.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi dogsnobby, my friend has a labrador retriever who also suffers with arthritis and she gives him Glucosamine.At the outset,she was getting it from the vet but at �84 for 90 capsules ,she found that pretty expensive .Now he does just as well on the human formula whatever form it comes in tabs.or caps. not the very high strength of 1000mg but something like 500mg or thereabouts.She also gives him cod liver oil caps.which help things along.
Hope you have some success with whatever you choose for her,it is miserable for them isn't it.

copoppin suggestion of glucosamine is a good one my nans old dog is on it and it had done wonders for her.
i know clients that have tried the hydrotherapy pool and they have had good results too ive not met anyone whos tried acupunture yet but its now even recognised by some pet insurance companys so if your insured then you should be able to claim it back.
