Can humans catch animal fleas? I've just noticed little fleas on my guinea pig & now I'm really itchy. Am I imagining it?

They will jump on you and bite, but won't live on you. You can get flea powder for small animals (or shampoo but its too cold to do them) and also stuff to do the hutch with. They can get them from cats or hedgehogs if the hutch is in the garden.

when putting flea treatments on small animals make sure you read the instructions very carefully.

make sure there are fleas and not lice or mites as they will need treatment from a vet with a drug called ivermectin.

Just be sure not to use frontline. It has been shown to kill rabbits, so I would definitely not use it on guinea pigs. Check with a vet what product is safe to use.
as said before fleas wont live on himan skin but they will bite you and the bites are mega itchy. and yes as soon as you know there are fleas in the house you will itch like mad
