Tonight I managed to get a picture (through the window) of my "pet" fox. It's only a youngster but calls regularly for a snack. I have occasionally caught a glimpse of an adult (Mum or Dad), it's huge, but rarely calls, I only see it in passing.
I think I've only ever had a fleeting glimpse of a fox...many years ago when we lived in Bedfordshire near the river Ouse.
My daughter had one outside her front door in London not long ago.
My neighbour found what she thought were bird feathers in her garden and blamed it on the local fox.
I wondered why she thought it was a fox and not a cat.
About 30 years ago I came home from work one day and caught this chap sunbathing in my back garden. I think he must be an ancestor of my current visitor, I can see a family likeness :-)
They`ll kill anything. My friend's mum forgot to lock her ducks in the barn one night and a fox bit the heads of every one of them. They don't just kill chickens. They kill ducks, geese, cats, lambs and anything they can get. The town ones might be scavengers (although I have seen them go for cats) but they are not sweet little animals. Unless you don't care about chickens etc.
