Flaco the eagle owl that vandals "liberated" from Central Park zoo a year ago has died after "crashing into a window"

Indeed.  Very sad.

It is sad, eagle owls can live up to 60 years in captivity.  It's not the first time activists/vandals have caused the death of a captive creature - thousands of mink,  rabbits,  an ostrich, cows.

Shame. Eagle Owls are huge birds and very impressive. They used to have them at Coombe Martin Wildlife Park in North Devon but I'm not sure if they're there now. I mean the park and the birds!

It is a great place, ladybirder. One year my daughter held a tarantula which crawled along her arm. Some people were virtually running away! They also do a really good bird display, and just before that section you can watch the otters in the stream below. Worth a visit if you're in the area this summer, I reckon.
