does anyone know if donkeys carry any diseases that could harm a person if bitten by one? My three-year-old son was feeding a donkey today and it bit him, it broke the skin and I'm not sure whether he needs to see the doctor or not. He had a tetanus booster about three weeks ago

No known diseases, possibly just a tetanus jab needed if he hasn't already had one.
Sorry, just caught the last part of your question. Dont worry about it if the booster was just three weeks ago.
The only problem is now growing up with a fear of donkeys!

Thanks - hopefully he won't be too bad, he did go back to give it a carrot afterwards but I had to put my hand over his and he didn't want to get too close!

Provided you have cleaned the wound thoroughly it will probably be ok. However, look out for any redness or swelling around the wound - straight to the doc if you see this!
