Lillies are definitely poisonous to cats. There have been one or two newspaper articles about cats which have chewed or licked them, ended up frothing at the mouth and subsequently died.

I havea cactus whcih has star shaped flowers. the lady behind me in the supermarket queue advised me these were poisionous to cats. Luckily I only have a dog.

What usually happens with Lillies, is that the cat will brush past it, and get some of the pollen on it's fur, which isn't dangerous by itself, until the cat comes to licking itself clean.

The pollen is highly toxic - if they're in an area where the stamen or the pollen won't be reached by a cat, then they're fine.

I've always got lilies in the house and I have a cat - I've never had any problems before, but thanks for the info! I'll be more careful in future.

i heard that daffodils were poisenous to cats aswell

i second lillies ive seen a cat die from eating lillies the poor cat must have eaten them in the night and by the time the owner got up the cat was so poorley and we had to put it to sleep the next day

I like fresh flowers, I also know some are posion I want to know which ones are so I will not harm my cats
