I am interested to know why my Springer is selective about which leg he lifts while peeing? He has a sniff then sometimes turns around before peeing so that he can pee by lifting the other leg. Is there one side for territory marking and one side for attracting the ladies?

A strange question I know but I am just intrigued.

I think they're just loopy.....my male springer won't even **** his leg....he squats like a little girlie !!!!

But the one thing he does that really annoys me is he poo's whilst on the move ie he'll have a squat in one place, then move 5 yards and have another, then another 5 yards....which can look pretty silly with me following him around with a poo bag.
Our springer bitch is "normal".....or as normal as can be for a loopy springer

Balance, and when he learned to left his leg from another a dog, he prefers the one side it sounds like. I don't like to try and balance on my left leg I would rather use the right, what about you?
What? When you have a pee, drgnrdr? Maybe it isn't just springers who are loopy.
Isn't everyone, just a bit? How do you think I tell the neighbors dog this is mine? LOL
We also have a odd springer, we rehomed him at a very senior age and he'd obviously been kennelled outdoors all his life. When he pee's, he only momentarily ***** his leg then continues as he walks along- looks like he's writing his name- zig-zag along the pavement. Also when being walked on a lead his number two's simply drop out, no pause for a squat, so not only are they scattered every few yards but you continually have to keep checking behind you as sometimes you don't even feel the lead tension change.
This is so funny! I've known my little dog change legs 5 or 6 times before he decides which direction he prefers. He used to do the walking poo thing but now he does it in one place although there's sometimes a tiny 'afterthought' a few yards away..... oh the joys of a steaming pile on a crisp January morning :-)
