my grandsons hamster is not moving,do they hibernate

As a general rule if your hamster is hibernating he's too cold. Out in the wild they do hibernate but as pets they shouldn't. Might be an idea to have a little poke about and see if he's ok and remember they're nocturnal and sleep loads.

Try moving it to a warmer room.

this happened to my hamster during a cold spell years ago....we put his cage close to a radiator and hey presto he way alive and kicking again by the morning!
