For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I suppose that when a bird feels a bit ill it doesn't feel like flying and goes and roosts in the enclosed protection of undergrowth or hedgerows to meet its maker - also I think the 'survival of the fittest' philosophy means that natural predators pick off the sick and old birds before they reach a natural end. As for baby pigeons, haven't a clue! Perhaps they get big really quickly in the nest and look fully grown when they come out to join the adults!

The reason you never see dead ones is because they are soon consumed by Maggots and having very small and light bodies they soon dissapear.
As for baby pidgeons yes your right.
PS My cat is very loving and not at all nasty but she does like catching birds and mice but she always eats them, that is the way of the animal world.
