Are there any kind of toys for dogs like a salt lick for horses? I don't mean salt for the dogs but something along those lines. We were thinking of something like this for the creche to keep the dogs occupied if they have to go in the pens, eg when workmen come. Kongs last about 5mins now and food balls are a bit boring. Any ideas? Ta

Make kongs last longer by bunging the small hole with peanut butter and filling it with chicken stock (easy and cheap - just simmer a few bones in a panful of water for half an hour or an hour) then wrap it in clingfilm and prop it upright in the freezer.

You can drop in bits of kibble too. These last aaaaages, and although they can be a bit messy as they melt, the dogs love them.

There is actualy a product on the market which I have used with a grea deal of success, its in the form of a hard plastic ball with two small holes in it, the idea is you put a handful of kibles in it ( make sure you buy the right size) and they drop out of the holes at random as the dog rolls it around the floor, it should only take a little encouragement for him to get the hang of it.

All the Best..

We have all those, the dogs have worked out how to finish them in record time! We stuff kongs with spready cheese and frolic, pate and hot dogs, gravy and kibble, they are experts now!
have you tried denti sticks they are X shaped in cross section and take quite a bit of chomping to get through them, my dog gets one every time we have to leave him on his own. Pigs ears take a while to get through too..
