My rabbit is now about 7 months old, she won't ever be coming into contact with other but should I have her spayed as a health precaution? I heard that cancer is quite common in unspayed rabbits? Will it change her behaviour if I do?

I don't know the answer but we have a 6 year old unspayed rabbit and she is really vicious, she growls and jumps at you when you open the hutch. The vet said this is sexual frustration, if spaying her would have made her calmer and I'd known this I would have had it done...to the rabbit obviously, lol!!

ps - make sure you vaccinate for (god knows how to spell this)....miximatosis , we lost a rabbit to this and the vet said she may have caught it from fox or squirrel fleas NOT other rabbits.

I would STRONGY advise you to have her spayed. Uterine cancer is extremely common in unspayed does. If you want her to live a long healthy life, it is really the only choice. Have a look at these websites:

Thank you so much I will definitely book her an appointment asap. Mixa vaccine has already been done but thank you.

You're welcome.

For future reference, I would keep these websites bookmarked - I have found them very helpful for medical and behavioural issues!

Best wishes to you and your bunny!
