No, it's not true.

However...........I did find this from a website.

The dogs needs to be taking care of everyday. Our dogs eat once a day, normally in the evening. In the summertime it is very important, that they have fresh water always available. In the winter they don't drink water, so we make a juicy drink with some fat and dry-food.

I thought they drank soup.
And how would they open the cans? ;-)
My nephew has a husky and he drinks water ..summer and winter.

Huskies in their working environment (snow & ice) eat the snow for their liquid refreshment and as long as fresh snow is available, they don't take water and we never gave them any. They will also metabolise some water from the seal meat that they eat. As soon as the huskies are brought off the glacier, they have to have access to fresh water just like other dogs.
