Do urban based birds like pigeons intentionally aim their excrement towards humans?

I'm beginning to get a mental picture in my mind ray!!!!
I've seen a seagull do this. Absolutely intentional. Came down to about 4 feet above head hight and fired one off at a passing woman.

On a more serious note...


Yes, birds will intentionally crap on people or any other animal for that matter- when they are feeling threatened. This is usually if you are approaching their nesting site.


However, there is no evidence that birds aim at people for the sake of it, they just go when they need to.

Yes. We have urban gulls (black backed). They nest on local buildings and object to any humans walking past. At first, they just dive at you, but if you are stupid enough to hang around, they will release a bomb at the precise point on their dive that will guarantee a direct hit (ie more or less point blank range). If you still haven't got the message, I understand that they can even draw blood through direct contact. I cannot vouch for that from personal experience though.
