Goldfish-staying at bottom of tank??
2 Answers
For the past 4 years I have had 6 of the same goldfish in a well set up tank. For the past couple of days one of them has stayed at the bottom of the tank & not moved at all.It is not interested in feeding, but does not seem to have problems with its breathing,it has no visable signs of injury or disease either.I am at a loss as what to do,as I am worried it may be suffering.Have checked the usual goldfish sites but with no luck.Help me anyone????????
Thanks.

Unless it's pregnant - in which case I have no idea what it should behave like! - It's possible that it has been bullied by the other fish, even forced to keep away from food, and is lying 'doggo'. My fish have all settled on the bottom for a day which simply seems to be they're having a rest! But because yours has been doing it for longer, I'd separate it from the others into another small tank or bowl, or even a bucket. Somewhere quiet. Keep trying to feed it, and if it's not seriously ill it should start eating again and after a couple of days you can put it back in the main tank and the other fish should leave it alone or it should stand up for itself now. If it doesn't start to eat then it must have something wrong with it so it's best it's not with the others anyway, in which case you'll have to just leave it on it's own to either give birth if it is pregnant or die naturally as it would in the wild.
