I feel terrible and useless, my nan lives in Clapham, London 300 miles away and I have just found out that her dog has gone missing. She lives with my physically & mentally disabled uncle and she is completly housebound. My uncle is in hospital and has been for a week so she has no-one that can look for the dog. My mum has called the police and Battersea Dogs home but to no avail, does anyone have any tips on how I may be able to help?

I'm so sorry to hear about your plight Danni!

I can't really offer you any further advice, as your Mum's already done what I'd have done. However, I hope you'll soon get a call telling you that your Nan's dog is safe & well. Good luck.

Get her to phone the RSPCA if you do it you will get put through to the nearest centre to you.

Maybe place an advert in her local paper.

Hope she finds hims soon.

put her dogs details on DogsLost.co.uk this is a good site to make people aware of missing dogs
Most councils in London have a Dog Warden. That would be the first port of call.If they dog had been roaming around it could well have been rounded up by said warden and be in the pound.Worth a try.The Wandsworth Parks Police are responsible for the dog control unit around the Clapham ..Clapham Junction area.May be worth a try.
Hope you soon find him.Good luck.

Thanks you guys, I have my fingers crossed this dog is their life :-( x x
Definitely the dog warden as said. At least if it is found they will have a note of who has lost it. Beware of charges that might be incurred by the local Council keeping the dog in the kennel though.

DogLost is a great site, also contact

www.petsearch.org.uk

they will post the details and email people in that area to look out for it.

She can phone the local police station. If she has Yellow Pages, she can also phone round the local vets in case somebody has phoned them to report a stray dog. If she lives in a house or flat, she can also write out a notice about her missing dog and stick it on her front door or front gate with her phone number. Hope it turns up soon.
Any news yet Danni?
