Mad Cat?

I moved house about 5 months ago and my 4 year old female cat seemed to take to her new surroundings like a duck to water - allowing my partner to make a huge fuss of her on every possible occasion - but about a month after moving in she started chasing her tail. She sits there looking at the end moving and slowly tries to jump on it going round and round in circles. She never did this before. Does anyone have any ideas why she does it now?

Maybe she's only just discovered it - I don't think that sounds like sinister behaviour or anything to be worried about.

haha my cat does this 2 but he has 3 legs so it much more interesting to watch i think its like a dog with his tail its like it moves its there omg i can chase it :D

I think it might just mean she's happy - acting in a mischievous kittenish way! One of my cats often does that - usually through the bannister rails!

What is it about banister rails and cats? Our previous cat used to attack me through them. (not being nasty, but quite fierce all the same)

not mad just in touch with her inner kitten.... my 11 year old has always done this, but his brother never has.

u should be glad-thats so cute! my cat playfully attacks me every time i grab his tail as its bushy and monkey like! dancecaller-mine does the same, they're playing but boy those nails are sooo sharp! try playing with your cat down the side of the bed, and dangle stuff at him-he goes mad!!! my other cat is obsessed with my brother and meows the house down unless she can sleep with him and his girlfriend on the bed at night.!

When I'm alone in bed I have Pat's playful company. if I move he pounces, which is fine until my toes stretch out and appear out of the end of the duvet. Ouch!
