hi ,i have a 4mnth old miniature pinscher who will be 6mnths in july.he will be due to be neutered at this time.im wondering if it is best to neuter him as hes only a small dog and will it drastically change his temperament and calm him down.in the back of my mind i think its prob best to neuter but i feel so horrible about doing it for the fact that i just feel guilty!would it matter to leave him intact or am i just being silly.x

I have a large crossbreed who we had neutered at 18 months old.Mine was detemined to get out and get his oats so to speak ,he wouldn't eat and spent his time howling at the moon and other unmentionable behaviour ! Neuturing calmed him down and made him much more biddable.Nothing to feel guilty about. What he hasn't had he won't miss! Much better to have a pet neutered then there wouldn't be so many unwanted dogs in rescue centres.Plus neutering also prevents testicular cancer in dogs in later life.
I had my dog benji done when he was 10 and yes it did chnage him for the better!!
No more running after bitches on heat, which mean't howling and being a pain in the night, he recovered really quick and after a few days was as right as rain.
He's now more lovable and caring (and I miss him to bits as he lives with my mam!!)
