Cat Habits No. 1

What is my cat trying to tell me when he pats my mouth with his paw during the night?! Is he trying to wake me up, start me breathing, stop me snoring, just tell me he loves me? ...........

Cats tend to do this but I don't think that anyone knows why. A similar question was raised a while back and it was surprising how many people said that their cats did it too.

Its certainly a combination of cute and startling, the latter when his claws slip out!

this, like most domestic cat behaviour is a kitten mode of behaviour. He is inviting you to play with him, as he would to one of his siblings.
