How much is to much Metacam for cats.

I have been reading the answers from other cat owners who have given their cats Metacam. My 7 year old Devon Rex has a dislocated knee and a poor hip. The vet put her on Metacam for 14 days by mouth, 20cc, once a day.

Misty, with the 22 year cat, how much and how often do you give your cat the Metacam?

How much does your cat weigh? Did you mean 2cc per day because I don't even give my great dane 20 cc a day. Or 20 cc total for the 14 days?
For a 10lb cat I normally give 0.3cc once a day. If the cat is really painful then maybe 0.5cc once a day for 4 days then decrease to 0.3 cc until finished.
Make sure your cat eats before you give the metacam to her. It can cause stomach problems otherwise.

We give him 1 or 2 droplets (from the pipette provided in the pack) on his food or on his paw, every other day. Sorry, I'm not sure how much that is in cc's

Oops sorry I forgot - he is a medium sized cat but now is quite frail given his age, and doesn't weigh a lot. The vet always told us to give him the metacam in droplets - cc's were never mentioned. I think its just easier that way to measure how much you're giving them.

If you really are giving your cat 20cc's (that is 20ml) - I would suggest that you stop ASAP.

That is the dose for a cow.

Normally for a cat you would require between 1 and 6 drops a day. I suggest you double check with your vet what he/she told you...

Thanks to all who responded to my question about metacam. Yes, I did type an incorrect dossage. It should have been 0.20 cc. She weighs 7.7lb. We decicded to stop giving it to her until we can get in touch with the vet. She is not eating well. Thanks again to all who responded..
