Mine lived to the grand age of 14, I'm no expert but I think that's about the average.

What do you mean by "lose interest in things?" Do you mean food, water etc? Mine never did, if that is what yours is doing I'd take it to the vet ASAP.

She is now 15.No she is eating fine but she is sleeping alot and only goes out to go to the toilet.

Thanks *_*

Well she's an old lady- let the old girl sleep, bless her!

As long as if she's eating and drinking and still fairly sprightly on her toes I wouldn't worry about it :-)

Question Author
Yeh shes good i suppose.eating and drinking well.

Thanks BOO *_*

No worries, like I said if you're that worried or she's acting odd, just pop her to the vet for a check up.

Cheers! BOO!!!

Hello again Kozmic.

Our cat lived until she was 18 and yes, she did sleep an awful lot for the last fewv years. A few months before she got ill a stray cat adopted us and moved in. The sight of a newcomer sitting in front of her fire was enough to bring on a hissy fit but most of the time she was content to sleep on my mums bed.

Our current 2 are 10 years old and have just been given a new lease of life by moving to a house with a big garden. (See, I can keep some pets alive for more than a few weeks!) :)

Question Author
We had 4 one ran off when she saw the dog now we just have the 3 our house is a bit like a zoo!!!
It is good to hear you can keep the cats alive :)
while mine run off instead!!
Our old boy is over 20. Sleeps most of the time but always waiting at the food bowl at the appointed times. Still wanders into the garden and sleeps in the sunny spots; only disadvantage for him there is that he is required to move to follow the sun round. Next door have 2 young Burmese and they stay out of our garden when ours is out. He can still manage a blood curling howl if they appear and gets all excited. Then he sleeps again. Amazing animal, went totally deaf over a year ago but now hears fine, well as selectively as cats hear anyway. Has one tooth left and had a big growth over his spine last year and now that has gone.
one off our cats lived to 20years of age sadly she was deaf from the age of 18 and then in her final few months she went blind and had trouble with her kidneys .still miss her
My sister had a cat that lived to be 21. I think in general cats have a very short "old age".
