We've got all our windows open, including the one on the landing. I just went to walk downstairs, put my hand on the top bannister post & felt a nasty slimey sensation on my hand. On closer inspection, I found that a bird's been in & left a nice visiting card for us, then flown back out again! Talk about public convenience!
We get lots of birds in our garage & utiliity room, 'specially Robins, but not so much in the house - do you?

Last year or the year before (forget now) I found a bird outside my daughter's bedroom window just dangling! Every now and then it flapped it's wings about but just hung there. We get birds in our eve's (is that the right word?) and this one had tried to eat a cord or something hanging off the side of the house, it was right down it's throat. I risked life and limb hanging out of the window helping this poor bird, managed to grab it and ease the cord out and he just flew away!
Nearest we've had to one coming in :o)
At least it's good drying weather :o)
Morning Wingnut & cat woman - back again after a busy weekend!
Years ago, my sister came home from work to find two dead blackbirds in her house - one was on her bed & one was down the toilet! She has always wondered how that came about, but only the birds will ever know - poor things!
Also, my husband reminded me of the night I fell asleep on the sofa late at night, only to be woken up by some chirping. I opened my eyes & was amazed to see that a bird had struggled down our chimney & ended up perched on the fire gtare. I must admit, it scared the hell out of me & I called out to my husband, who set it free.
P.S. In addition to my question - After I found the bird poo on the spare bed, my husband then spotted some on our other spare room window sill, I then discovered some more on my jewellery box in our bedroom. The poor bird must have been desparately trying to get out of the house again & we never heard a thing!
Wishing you both a lovely day!
