Golden retreiver off food

Hi I have a 11 week old golden retreiver who scoffs his food down in one go. Last night it took him about 2 hours to eat his dinner, and this morning he was feed at 8am and now at 10.45 he still hasn't ate it all. Should I be worried? Thanks

Is he drinking water at all? If not, then he will probably be dehydrated and will need to see a vet as soon as possible. he may have something stuck in his throat or intestines. Please take him to a vet today as puppies go downhill quickly if they are ill.

Hope yor puppy is ok and soon back to a healthy appetite.
When he's back to normal, take his food away after ten minutes, he'll soon get the idea and it's always good to be able to tell a vet when your dog last ate in case of emergency.

How did you get on at the vet's with your puppy?

Hi, my wee max has a chest infection,swollen glands, throat and ears. He is on an antibotic for 5 days. The vet gave him an antibotic injection and he was back to normal last night, eating though not as much as he usually does. I was so worried never had a puppy before. The vet said we picked it up quickly so he should be back to normal in a day or two. Thanks everyone for your help

Glad he is ok. Its always a good idea to consult a vet unless it is a very minor problem. This could have turned nasty if not picked up early. Puppies don't usually go off their food for no reason.

Thanks for all your concern. Max is great scoffing his food as usual he goes for his 2nd injection next week and i can't wait so I can take him out. Thanks again everyone. x
