Breed of dog?

Which breed of dog has long corkscrew type hair (looks a bit like dredlocks) think they are usually black, there was an advert with a man with short matching (kind of) dredlocks running down the beach with one a while back, it was gorgeous but cant find anything out about them coz i dont know the name!! thanks in advance!

Hi. It sounds as if this dog could be a Hungarian Puli. They have long 'dreadlock' type coats and are used for herding and make great pets. Put the name into a search engine image search and you can see a pic of one. Hope this helps!! Maz.

If you go to www.champdogs.co.uk and click on Guided search, then Pastoral Group, then Hungarian Pulis, then Breeders, this will give you a list of breeders. If you look at Rockisland Hungarian Pulis, and go to their website they have some good photos.

Please remember though that their coats take up to 5 years to grow and take a lot of looking after, and underneath all that they are a herding breed, can be quite noisy, and are very agile, and need to be kept occupied. A responsible breeder would not let you have one just because you liked the look of the coat!

Didn't mean any offence, but you'd be surprised how many people are! Think how many people wanted Dalmatians after the film came out, and Husky types after Snow Dogs.
Not to mention Dogue De Bordeaux after Turner and Hooch!
