oyster catcher on the thames?

I saw 2 oyster catchers on the banks of the Thames today. Is this normal? or are they off course?

No, they're fine. The Thames Estuary is one of the prime spots for wader watching - Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Avocet etc.

The Oystercatchers mainly breed further north and then migrate to the south coast for the winter - starting as early as June. So keep a watch out for more and more species as the autumn migration gets under way starting with a dribble, then more and more will join up from the continent with those already here.

the thames is the cleanest city river in the EU or something like that, it was on gordon ramsay the other night where he was catchin eels, oyster catchers live in fields and stuff an eat most crawly things so i think thyre fine!
