No, you can't really stop him. Young kittens are like young children - full of mischief and curious about getting into everything. Enjoy him while you can and play with him as much as possible with bits of noisy paper tied to the end of a long piece of string which he can chase, and throwing pieces of crackly tofee paper for him to retrieve to tire him out. Sooner or later he will get to the point where he's a sedate creature who will be happy to sleep most of the day. He's currently at the point where he needs lots of entertainment. If he was still with his siblings they would be playing with each other and chasing each other for much of the time so now he's on his own you need to substitute some of this play time for him.
Try sitting him on the naughty step, but you must explain why it has been placed there and don't let it move until you get an apology.
Don't worry. Cats use up all their energy in the first year then spend the rest of their lives sleeping. This time next year you'll be on here asking how you can get your cat off the bed and moving about. :~)
Aww bless him! That's what kittens do!! Enjoy it, because you certainly won't be able to stop it!
in short no you cant stop him, thats what kittens do......
You wouldn't expect a toddler to sit still, would you? Its just the same for a kitten. He's probably bored, so give him lots of toys and interact with him yourself. Its great fun, they are adorable at this age. Are you leaving him alone for long periods of time? If you are, that is why he goes bananas when you come home, he can't be quiet all the time. there would be something wrong with him if he was.
That's the fun of having a kitten. Enjoy it!

He'll quieten down in a few months.
My kitten is 9 weeks old and so much fun - very frisky! We have set up a little SAS obstacle course for him in the lounge where he can climb, hide under pillows but that doesn't keep him from scaling the curtains and our legs! I think its just his age and you can't really do anything about it!
Sorry I can't help you here, I've had kittens which have almost wrecked our home, I have given them plenty of attention, toys to play with, it is like having children in the home only without the screaming tantrums. I never had children so my cats are my babies and enjoy every moment while they are growing up. X X X :-)
agree with cat woman and everyone else.that's just what kittens do.you can almost see them thinking 'what can i get up to next'.just keep plenty of toys around to help keep it occupied. when they get a bit older they listen to you more and learn not to jump onto tables, scratch furniture etc.
