Anyone out there an expert on Siamese cats? We got our old boy as a rescue animal over 14 years ago, and though we've read lots of cat books, they all seem to be reticent about the longevity of the breed. He is 16 in October and in excellent nick - most of our other cats, (all much-loved moggies) over the years seem to average 16 years.

many thanks Boo, that site is far more comprehensive about the Siamese than anything else we've ever read. My missis read it and said 'Blimey, spot on!' when she noted the noisiness and the demands for attention etc. Thanks again
My last siamese died at 18. She was in good health and active right up to the end.

17, 18, 19 years is not uncommon in siamese.

Thanks Catso - it sounds like our domestic tyrant will be running things round here for some time to come!
