Can anyone identify this wasp like insect? It measures 50mm in length. I have a photo but don't know how to attach it to this question.
I can email the picture to anyone that may be able to identify it. It is alive and in a jar.

Its most likely a Hornet

I have now found out that it is a wood wasp. The picture I found on a website matches exactly. It can be seen at:
