Seconds away, round two!
Yes I do use the internet., and also my extensive library of (mostly) dog books. Even if I think I know the answer I like to check my facts, and often (as in the antler case) I find myself very interested in what I find. I do have a lot of experience in the dog world, and a lot of contacts who are also very knowledgeable. I often ask questions of them myself and we share our experiences and ideas on several dog sites.
If I find a site which is of general interest I like to post it to let other people learn from it as well, such as the one on poisonous substances.
I also recently read up on bats after a question on here. Soon after, someone posted having had their son bitten by a bat. I remembered reading that there was a place that specialises in bats, and when I looked up the article again it gave a name and phone number for a lady who is an expert, so I posted this which I hope helped the person who was worried about their son.
I haven't yet learnt how to copy the link, other than typing it in full, so if anyone can tell me how I would be grateful. I would also love to know how you put 'click here' and get taken straight to another site.
One of the questions today was about a staffie that was not well. It sounded to me like a case of pyometra, which one of my dogs had, so I recognised the symptoms. I chose not to answer the post other than to agree with a previous poster, as everything they had said was correct.
I do get cross when people come on here to ask for advice on serious conditions, when they should be taking their animals straight to a vet - that is where mine go if I have any doubts as to their health.
