New kittens - worming?

My dad's cat has just had two lovely kittens. My dad is now concerned that they may need worming. I think they are a few weeks old. Does anyone know what he needs to do for them at this early stage of their life? Presumably they should be taken for jabs etc.? I'm going out today to buy him a book on kitten care, but he's just called a little worried (think he's not had kittens before!) so if anyone has any advice, or knows of any online sources of info we could check, that would be most appreciated!

Kittens get worms from their mother through her milk, and so they need worming from 2 weeks of age. Johnstons Kitten Worming syrup can be bought from pet shops and is the easiest to use, although if you suspect the kittens have a large worm burden (very potbellied and not thriving or growing well) then you need to see the vet who will prescribe something a bit stronger. The instructions are on the bottle for the Johnstons, but I would do them every two weeks until they leave home at 6 - 8 weeks, and then once a month until they are six months if they are staying with you.
