My 11 year old english cocker keeps having little accidents particularly when she is deeply asleep. What can I do? Should I limit her drinking on an evening? Help.

I would be very careful with reducing the water she drinks as you don't want to make her more ill by way of dehydration. Take her out as often as you can and certainly before you turn in for the night. This could be an infection or even just the fact that she is getting older. Either way, don't sit there guessing - take her to the vet and have her checked out! Don't let the poor thing suffer. There are often simple solutions to problems like this.
Could be diabeties, hormonal imbalance, kidney disease, a bladder infection, a pinched nerve... anything really. Let her have lots of water as dehydration will really be problematic if it is her kidneys or diabeties. Does she squat lots in the yard or does she just dribble when she sleeps. Does she leak when she is active? Is she drinking more?
We had the same problem with our 14 year old Lab there is medication that will cure the problem it is something our bitch is on Propalin and it worked almost straight away like next day. We were recommended 0.6 ml of the syrup put into her food 3 times a day but I started her on 0.6 twice a day and this worked. Went on the manufactureres web site and they recommend that when the medicine works you can reduce the dosage Rosie is now on 0.3 ml twice a day and everything is still OK
