probably just melted. scaremongerers keep going on about global warming and the devastation it is going to cause but the fact is if you view our planets history 80% of it's life span it has never had polar ice caps.
There is a gigantic chunk floating off the east coast of New Zealand this very minute. Considering it is nearly summer over that part of the world, it must have been a formidable sized ice cube when it left home.

We do well to take notice of these warning signs. There is a definite global warning going on which is vastly accelerated by Man's polution. One billion years ago there were no mammals and the only land was one big island. The reptiles that lived at that time probably wouldn't have added up to one million in total.

The land has slid across the globe since then and is much lower than what it was. When all the ice has melted the seas will be 6 metres higher, floading much of the populated areas as we know it now.
Not scaremongerers. People have been talking about it for years. Only lately the press seem to have picked it up as news. Wonder why?

In answer to such a simple question we get such animosity from both sides of another. Lighten up!!!! Even if the worst were to happen immediately , the world will survive without us quite well.
Yes the world will survive us all perfectly well, when we're all gone, buried and dead, but what annoys me is that we have to take every other creature down with us. Sorry that still doesn't answer your question.
