Tiny little biter
5 Answers
Hi, I work on a golf course and on occasion i get biten by a tiny little black and white fly. I only seem to notice it around when i am sweating. I notice when it bites me because it hurts and after brushing it away it normally leave blood and the my arm goes red and a little white welt comes up in the middle. Afterwards the area iches like any other insect bite but there is a definate sting there aswell.
Please tell me what this little F*$%R is and what the hell it wants with my arm, can i expect to see little babys flying out from under my skin?
Thankyou

Apparently it's only the females that bite, you seem a lot like me in that you act like a magnet to females to attract them, with me they circle around my head and start biting as soon as I start to sweat.
They are probably breeding in a ditch or pond on the golf course, so I dont think they will be laying eggs under your skin, it's your blood they're after to nourish their egge and the anticoagulant they inject to thin your blood that causes the iritation. I think it's a good idea to carry a bite repellant around, 'jungal formula' I find is okay, you can also get a small pocket size sting reliefe spray such as 'bite eze' if they find the bit you did'nt put the other stuff on.
Slowing down is another option,so you dont sweat ;-)
