All bitches are in season for approximately three weeks, but of course this depends on when you first notice. Some are very clean and you don't notice for the first few days, otheres drip all over the place or keep licking themselves so it is easier to know. Of course, if there are any males around, they will soon let you know! Incidentally, they are usually receptive to the dogs for about two of those weeks - usually from about day 8 onwards and sometimes even longer, so be very careful where you exercise her or you will have unwanted guests on your doorstep or following you around the park. They can be mated up until about day 30, so keep her away from dogs until at least that time.

I am so glad that I came across this website, I have looked and looked for the answer. Our CC (Jack Russell - 6 1/2 months old) has been in season, that we know of for 1 week. We have asked and searched to see how long she will be in season and thankfully we now know. Keep up the good work, great website.
