Do white rats live in the wild?

Today i saw a dead white rat outside my flats and i was wondering if they live in the wild or if it either jumped out of a window or my cat has jumped into someones home killed it and brought it out?

Albinos can occur in most (if not all) animals.
I think spudqueens's right they do sometimes ocurr in the wild but they do not usually live long, due to their lack of camauflage they easily fall prey to predators.
This I think is what Darwin meant when he was talking about "survival of the fittest"
As a pest controller for 13 years I have never seen a white rat in the wild, but I'm sure albino rats do exist. I suspect that what you saw was an escaped domesticated rat, of course these domesticated rats are exactly the same species as the wild brown rat so would breed with no problem.
