My dog has very bad breath

And it's definatley not the usual Pedigree Chum breath. It's like rotten eggs or something. Any ideas what it could be? He has never eaten out of the bins or anything bad in the garden. Thanks in advance

It may be a gastric problem, or more likely it's his teeth. he may need a good dental, or maybe he has an infection.

Either way, you need to take him to the vet to be checked - either problem should not be left, they just get worse.
Could be a dental problem, or a gastric one, or even kidney disease, so it is best to get it checked.
