How old are the average elvers that are born in the Sargasso Sea that swim across and ascend British Rivers?

They are about 2-3 years old- they dont so much swim across as drift across on the Gulf Stream. They live to a good age- fifty odd years or more before going back to the ocean and across to the sargasso to breed
