SO where are you going to release it and whats it likely to do next- invade someone else's house? They do live in fields near human habitation as well as in buildings. THey are considered pests as they ruin so much stored food and are carriers of disease. So are we still moist eyed over them?
dont poison it. If it goes to die where a cat finds it then the cat is a gonner too. Either that or some poor person gets a big vet bill. If it decides to die where a cat doesnt find it then you have a rotting corpse somewhere in the house (bit smelly). I have used both killer traps and humane although I do agree with the where are you going to release it arguement. I am affraid after them eating some very expensive stuff in my garage last year I resorted to killer traps and trying not to think about it too hard. Sorry boo!!
We've had field mice a couple of times, apart from humane traps my son had a brainstorm once and staked it out ( I do worry about his sanity) he managed to corner it, trap it and then released it back into the field. You need to act quickly cos they're so destructive and one becomes two...... also check around the house for possible entry gaps so you can do something about it before a revisit. Hope you're soon miceless!
Here we go again...the vermin argument.
We (humans) call all creatures, that are remotely successful at surviving, vermin or pests. (Everything else seems to be endangered!) If you follow that argument to it's logical conclusion, then WE are the biggest vermin on the planet. Which of you lot are up for a bit of human(e) trapping????

Minor problem with that marvelman. Our cat is the culprit for bringing most of the mice in the darn house as presents!!!! It lets the things go and they run aroud like idiots. They are easy to catch in one of those big fishing net things as they hide and dont know where to go. You see I am nice to mice when it isnt their fault they are in my house. So if you get the cat dont get the catflap!!!
