I have a birds nest in my gutter just above my bedroom window - for the last four days I have been woke up from about 4.30am with the noise of the baby birds! I know sometimes it is very nice to listen to birds chirping but not at this time of the morning when I dont have to get up until 8.00am by which time I have a headache!

Advice please - can I have the nest removed or will the birds just go when they get big enough to fly and will they keep coming back to it?? Help - its driving me mad!

I sleep every night with music on, such as a good cd. That way if there is any noise outside it doesn't wake me because I cannot hear it over the music.
you cannot have the nest removed if there are baby birds in there as they are protected by law. You will have to wait for the birds to fledge see this link http://www.rspb.org.uk/advice/law/whatsinthero of/removal.asp
It appears that they may be protected by law. I had a very similar problem. But I got round it by getting up at 2am every morning and making a bunch of noise by the nest in the gutter. See how they like it. Needless to say, it never worked and I got the sack for showing up late for work. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answers - I definitely wont be able to sleep if I put music on and I dont fancy waking up at 2am to make a noise!! lol
I suppose I will have to put up with it until they are old enough to fly away then I will hide the nest!
