I own a 2 y/o ginger tom cat, neutered but I only see him once a week, where does he disappear to ? Just when I start to worry about him being lost etc he reappears just like magic - purring, looking all soulful, asking for food, but he must be getting fed somewhere else ? Why does he come back ? I have got used to him wandering for days on end now but would love to fit a miniature camera to his collar to see where he goes....the grass must be greener for him somewhere...
Hi Roughquest, you OK? I think he is just a bit of an old stop out!! he probably has a few homes where he gets fed. I had a cat like that, once he went missing for six months!! we kept in the house for a couple of weeks (with litter tray) and never had the problem again.
Does he wear a collar - if so you could try attaching a note to his collar introducing yourself and asking where he gets to! He obviously has another home somewhere and it sounds as if whoever is feeding him is also looking after him well.
Well cats have 9 lives & seem to enjoy living them in different surroundings!
My son & his partner had a regular visitor who shot in the door as soon as they arrived home, stayed a while & then went 'home'.
One day my son attached a little barrel to it's collar asking 'Who am I, where do I live?'
Moggy returned with a message saying "My name is *tom*, I live at *no 1 Main st*.... where do I go?"
My son wrote "Anywhere the wind takes me man...." :o)
We used to have a cat that disappeared on Sundays and always smelt of Sunday roast when he came back, turns out a little old lady in the next street used to share her Sunday dinner with him.
I felt quite sorry for her though because he used to spray everywhere and she obviously didnt see him do it.
