King Charles spaniels. Are they all beautiful but brainless?
5 Answers
I have a 7yr old dog (given to me at 15 mnths) & he seems to be getting dafter! Someone will say the dog's only as good as the owner, but I really try, read books, watch tv progs - can't afford expensive trainers. His worst offence is going barmy with visitors, not afraid, just noisy. We try ignoring & he settles but if anyone moves he's off again. He's not too good on walks either. Any suggestions please?

My dogs have all used them (except for my latest dog who is too big for the largest size made) and they are very effective. The fit around the dogs nose and if the dog pulls the device tightens. They are highly recommended. If your dogs behaviour in the house is bad you can buy a collar which has a container for lemon scent. When the dog misbehaves you can operate the remote control which squirts a little lemon mist. This doesn't hurt the dog but after a few squirts they quickly learn that if they behave badly this 'thing' squirts lemon mist at them. I have a deaf dog who was quickly trained using this device. She still wears it every day even though it hasn't had spray in for years. The minute the special collar goes on she behaves perfectly. They are expensive though. depends if there is any other less expensive way to train your dog. Good Luck!
Thank you for that apricot, although I do know about Haltis. I had one for my last dog & it was like magic! What I've found with my K.C.spaniel however is that due to his short snout he can turn & pull backwards & much to his delight he's free. Took him about 2 mins to work that one out. Maybe not as daft as he acts! Will look into the collars though. Thanks again.
I had the same problem with the halti until I got a attachment which clips to the haltie and to the collar (available from Pets at Home etc) and holds it in place much better and if they do 'back up', you are still attached to the dog! I've found this makes walks much easier. As for the barmy with visitors situation, if you find an answer let me know
