New Mother cat has disappeared
3 Answers
I need help. My partners mum had a cat that was pregnant. She is normally kept in but she managed to get out during the night and she had her kittens. She came back the following day looking alot thinner and no longer pregnant. Trouble is no-one can find the kittens.
My partners mum lives out inthe middle of nowhere so the kittens could be anywhere. We have looked in all the places the cat goes to but no luck. The 'mother' cat was coming back regularly for food and we have tried looking to see where she goes but no luck.
Now the 'mother' cat hasnt come back for 2 days. We dont know whether she knew we were trying to find the kitten so has stayed away for a bit. Just wondered if qanyone has gone through thje same thing or if anyone has any ideas how to look forthe kittens. She gave birth just over a week ago.

Within the next week or two she will start to bring the kittens to where the food is so it might be an idea to leave food outside and watch and wait.
Be warned though.within a few weeks of birth, with no human contact the kittens will be almost Feral so please use a towel or net tocatch them or you could end up bitten and scratched to bits. I have a few scars. Good luck.

we had this with one of our cats she brought them home once they started to need proper food put some outside your back door each day to get her to bring them close we had some lovley scratches and bites when we first caught them but they tamed down after a while and 7years on they are all fine when we first caught them we kept them in a large cage till they got a bit tamer as trying to catch them was a nightmare good luck
I had this last year with one of my girls, she went out and came back skinny!
We spent 3 hours searching, in the end gave up, drove to the shops and came back and called the cat, she came out from under a bush in the drs surgery car park 2 doors down from us!
The kittens were only a couple of days old, but all grew into healthy happy pussy cats!
